Prompt Response: I will never fully understand why kids of immigrant parents won't try to do something with their lives. What I mean by this is that parents would have to do hard labor jobs to have their kids financially stable, and for the kids to value their education or not have to value doing something is obnoxious.
Summary: Today, there was a class discussion about whether it was obligatory to owe our parents.
Reflection: I don't think it's obligatorily to owe back to our parents but to at least appreciate what they do as parents. For me, only having to value my education and have it as my main priority is a blessing. As for others, they aren't able to have that. I would want to give something back to my parents because it's respectful. We often forget the little things our parents do for us and forget to thank them, too.
