Write about the best gift you have received.

 Prompt Response: The best gift I ever received was an alternative-sized doll of an American Girl doll. I remember writing my letter and specifically asking for a doll to look like me. Over the years, there were many dolls made with darker skin tones, and I knew American Girl dolls were expensive, but I never really knew how expensive they were. I was about 7 years old when I asked for this, and every time my mom and I would go to any toy section at a store, I would always try to take a glance at the dolls when passing by the section. And that very morning at Christmas, there it was. The doll sitting under the tree. I remember seeing the skin tone of the doll and also having its extra pair of clothing to dress it up. This was truly a gift that 7-year-old me would never forget. 

Summary: Today, I read letters 20-25 The Color Purple.

Reflection: I think due to all the trauma Celine has gone through, she is unfamiliar with and even questioned why she feels such a way against Shrug Avery. Avery's attitude settles and becomes more gentle around Celine the more time they spend and care for her.

Write about something that you heard that you wish you could unhear.

  Prompt Response:  My connection with a friend began to grow apart as time went by. I didn't know why, but something seemed off. Maybe we were growing tired of one another. I then began to distance myself from them because maybe they might have not cared for me as a friend anymore. I don't know. It wasn't until I brought it up and said why are they acting this way. They proceeded to say "yours weren't enough". I didn't know what they meant by that. I processed those words as they just didn't like me in the way it was before, but that's ok. I have to understand unfortunately you can't keep those you love close all the time and only trying won't bring them any closer or receive what you want from them.  Summary: Today, we did a reflection on our semester.  Reflection:  It's good to have a moment and think both how we are doing in our lives. Why I want a Husband

Today we compared the gender roles of what are expected from a wife and a husband. I liked this lesson because we were able to see the view point of the speaker, on how hard it can be to be a wife, or what is expected from a wife. The things expected from a husband can somewhat be hard to be expected from a man when they are not committed. Today, I have practice after school.
