Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

 Prompt Response: My mom always tells me to greet EVERYONE at a family function, but I hated interacting with a big group. I didn't find it necessary to say hello to those I didn't even know. As I got older, I still don't get over the awkward sensation of greeting a large group or a group I don't really know, but I think it's only a way to be respectful. 

Summary: Today, in class we read more letters from The Color Purple.

Reflection: I think as Veline spends more time with Shug, she is beginning to realize her true interest since she has always had bad experiences with men. I really do think depending on that a person has gone through in their life, this can affect their interests and likings.

Write about something that you heard that you wish you could unhear.

  Prompt Response:  My connection with a friend began to grow apart as time went by. I didn't know why, but something seemed off. Maybe we were growing tired of one another. I then began to distance myself from them because maybe they might have not cared for me as a friend anymore. I don't know. It wasn't until I brought it up and said why are they acting this way. They proceeded to say "yours weren't enough". I didn't know what they meant by that. I processed those words as they just didn't like me in the way it was before, but that's ok. I have to understand unfortunately you can't keep those you love close all the time and only trying won't bring them any closer or receive what you want from them.  Summary: Today, we did a reflection on our semester.  Reflection:  It's good to have a moment and think both how we are doing in our lives. Why I want a Husband

Today we compared the gender roles of what are expected from a wife and a husband. I liked this lesson because we were able to see the view point of the speaker, on how hard it can be to be a wife, or what is expected from a wife. The things expected from a husband can somewhat be hard to be expected from a man when they are not committed. Today, I have practice after school.
